Iron Supplements for Energy

Iron is a naturally occurring metal that the human body requires for full energy and health. Low iron levels, however, are fairly common for many patients. When you don't have enough iron in your system, you may feel tired, have difficulty concentrating, and frequent bouts of illness. Iron supplements may help improve your energy levels if you tend toward anemia (low iron in the blood). If you believe you may have low iron levels, you should consult a health care provider for testing.

Iron Pills for Energy

Iron pills may be used to supplement your diet to improve your low iron levels. Health care providers may recommend over-the-counter dosage to improve your iron levels, which will, in most cases, improve energy levels as well. Iron pills come in a wide range of dosages, so it's best to consult a health care provider before choosing a dosage to take.

Is Iron Good for Energy?

If you have low iron levels, iron supplementation may help improve your energy levels. Typically, if you have mild iron depletion, iron supplementation often results in improvements in energy levels within four weeks. For full repletion, three months is typical.
